Endura Hummvee Jersey Review

The Endura Hummvee jersey (£34.19) is right up there with the best jerseys. Just like the Hummvee shorts, the jersey is a solid trail garment that will perform for beginners and pros alike.

Bike radar: “This top kept us coolest and was the most comfortable in the heat, with some high-end features” 4.5/5 stars.

Why wear a jersey?

A jersey isn’t just worn as part of a team kit – it’s actually a functional item of clothing that can be used effectively in both summer and winter. In the summer you can wear it as your only top layer – it will wick sweat to keep you dry and cool without giving you a chill. In the winter a jersey acts as an ideal mid-layer between a base layer and a jacket. So every cyclist really should have a jersey in their riding kit.

MBR rating 10/10

Performance

The Hummvee jersey is one of the most breathable on the market, although not the lightest, so even on a hot day, you’ll stay cool. Endura have but a lot of research into their clothes and it shows – the Hummvee jersey’s fabric allows a gentle amount of air flow, this movement of air really helps to keep things fresh.

Features

  • A zipped pocket at the back which is perfect for carrying a spare tube, bottle or water if you are just popping out on a shorter ride.
  • The zip has a chin guard and facing (or garage) at the back for maximum comfort when wearing it without a base layer.
  • Subtle reflective strips add to your visibility rating if you have to ride at dawn or dusk.
  • Media port so you can pipe your tunes without unsightly wires hanging off you.

Who’s it for?

The Hummvee range is designed for UK mountain/trail use but to be honest you could easily use it on the road and you won’t look too ridiculous in the Hummvee jersey down the pub. The jersey comes in four colours - red, white, green and a slimming black (if like me you enjoy a pint or two).
