Last few days of Bike Week 2012

There are just a couple of days left of this year’s Samsung Bike Week, but it’s definitely not too late to take part and with Samsung donating £1 for each mile cycled to charity, it’s a very worthwhile and enjoyable cause. With cycling events all around the UK, there’s bound to be something of interest near you – their handy event search can point you in the right direction. Get on your bike, get riding and get fundraising!

Dating back to the 1920s, Bike Week has gone from strength to strength and is now the biggest nationwide cycling event in the UK. Bike Week encourages people to dust off their bikes and take part in an event, tackle a cycle route, commute to work or just pop to the shops, hopefully to consider making future journeys by bike. It’s a great opportunity to rediscover cycling and introduce friends and family to it as well.

To help raise money for charity you can download a free Samsung Hope Relay App for your smartphone, which will log your distances cycled. Samsung will then donate £1 for each mile you tackle.

Bike Week finishes this Sunday 24th June. For more information, please visit the official webpage.

Sal

was brought up riding around in a child seat, showing her competitive streak off at birthday parties at Birmingham Wheels BMX park and spent many weeks cycling around Cornwall and France as a teenager. Bike excursions (mainly to public houses) with friends followed in her early twenties and nowadays she forces her own toddler to ride around in a child seat. Despite pretending not to be a girlie girl, she has owned a series of increasingly pink bikes over the years.Currently training for: BHF South Wales Bike Ride (28 miles). Any donations greatly appreciated! http://www.justgiving.com/teamthelmaandlouise
